| Name: Linda Tavara Meaning: Linda's last name, "Tavara" literally means "stuff" in Finnish. "Tavara" is also a city in the Black Sea region of Turkey, a small village in Spain, a river in Peru, and one of the Solomon Islands (northeast of Australia). In Trabzon and Turkish folklore, "Tavara" is a tormenting night-demon, or a nightmare. Aliases: May Welkes, Lilith Carmichael, Rachel Turner, Johannah Paul, Kerry Sullivan. Evolutionary Anomaly Class: Biological Aura Absorption - the ability to absorb the life force of others and the abilities of evolved humans through physical contact, as well as to see the 'auras' of others. Linda can see the 'auras' of any life form: humans, animals, or plants. Linda can see the life force of other lifeforms with her own eyes, describing it as a glowing 'aura' around that being. The stronger the life force, the brighter the aura will be. Evolved human beings have especially bright auras. By grabbing her victim with both hands, Linda can then absorb that aura into herself, an act which is usually fatal to the victim, leaving them a withered husk. If Linda absorbs the aura of a Special, she also absorbs their ability. Linda's absorption is not instantaneous - it takes her anywhere from a few seconds to half a minute to drain her victim, depending on how vigorous they are. The victim is not paralyzed and can fight back, but will become weak and sluggish, and usually unable to defend themselves. Mediumship - the ability to visually detect the psionic echoes of deceased individuals. Absorbed from Ida May Walker in 1967. Levitation - ability to raise objects off the ground or surfaces. The user can levitate herself up to three meters into the air as well as slow descent when falling from a higher altitude. | Linda Tavara gives new meaning to the term "mercenary" -- though her desires run less toward financial gain and more toward the acquisition of power. That the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive is just an added bonus. Having spent the greater part of her childhood as a prisoner in her own home, Linda is reluctant to allow herself to be tied down by anyone or anything; she views personal relationships as being either a means to an end or something done to pass the time and to date has not found someone that could hold her interest for longer than a few months. Following her recruitment, Linda has established herself as an individual of resource and efficiency; she has yet to receive an assignment that she has not completed to the full satisfaction of her superiors. A pragmatist at heart, she is open to negotiation provided there is enough incentive for her to do so. However, if you do choose make her an offer you'd better make it good, or she'll make you suffer for wasting her time. |
